Another year has passed and our children are getting older; watching them grow up and trying to have them learn new things is an excellent way for them to learn independence, gain confidence, and meet new people. Swimming is an exceptional sport for kids to be a part of. It is an easy alternative for physical activity for those who are uncoordinated or disinterested in team sports. It is a great way to learn breathing control for those who have asthma, and most importantly it is a LIFE skill!
Regardless, if you have a pool of your own, go to the cottage or live in the desert with no water in sight you never know what the future holds and learning how to swim can save a life. We at the
Swim Academy work with people of all ages and levels and our goal is make sure each of our clients learn to swim efficiently with confidence and skill. We teach private lessons for infants as soon as they can crawl in our survival based
Pedia Swim program. At the end of a 4 week intensive program your child will learn how to flip on to their back, float to the surface and we begin working with them to swim to the side on their own; all while fully clothed. Ages 2 to adult we begin our small sized group classes where the instructor will work with them on their skills and efficiency of strokes. We pay attention to all the little things to make sure the overall picture comes with ease. Once you are a strong swimmer you now have the opportunity to join our pre-competitive program for ages 9-16, or our triathlon/master’s program ages 16-Adult. We focus on reaching your goals whether it is to have more physical activity or lowering your swim times so that you are ready to compete for the next race. Finally, our Leadership program is the next step if you wish to become a lifeguard or instructor which is a fantastic first job as it provides important skills such as working with others, teaching children and taking on responsibility.
At the
Swim Academy, we enjoy taking the personal approach and we do it with pride. We want you to become a member of our family. We strive to help you and your child succeed and will go out of our way to make it count. From taking that extra time with your child to teach a new drill to posting tips on our blog site so you can help with these achievements from home. Come check us out at the
