What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think
about Martial Arts? Is it Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Ninja Turtles, maybe Kung Fu
Panda? Do you picture smashing bricks to pieces with your forehead? Or holding
a perfect split with each foot balanced on a chair? Or, like many people, are
you unsure what to think or expect when you first walk into a Martial Arts
class?
In truth, there are many different elements to Martial Arts.
Perhaps not all brick smashing and mutated turtles, however. Martial Arts training,
such as Tae Kwon Do at Rising Sun Martial Arts, aims to achieve both physical,
and mental strengths. Not only does training develop a strong and fit body, but
also a strong personal character enriched with confidence and self-esteem.
With each Martial Arts class comes lessons about how to
defend yourself effectively and efficiently, and also how to develop personal
skills such as:
- Respect
for Teachers, Peers, Parents, and Ones Self
- Dicsipline
- Self
Control
- Perseverence
- Modesty
- Integrity
- Courtesy
- Determination
Students develop a strong sense of self, and the knowledge,
courage, and confidence to avoid negative situations. Students also learn
personal skills that they can take with them into the real world.
People of all ages can learn and benefit from Martial Arts
training. There is no such thing as too young or too old, too big or too small,
too unfit, or even disabled. All those who wish to develop the best personal
character possible, and who want to gain confidence, ability, and strength, can
benefit. Everyone has the ability to develop a Black Belt Attitude, which is
all about never giving up and always trying your best. That is how you become
the best YOU possible.
