STREETdog ARTstudio offers a Fine Art Program tailors to students of all ages who have expressed a special interest in the Visual Arts. Children will enjoy learning a whole range of artmaking skills including DRAWING, PAINTING, SCULPTURE, PHOTOGRAPHY, PRINTMAKING. Let your kids discover ART while having fun! In all our programs children learn about famous artists, are introduced to art history and art genres and enjoy new art projects and themes each term that teach new skills and expand their creativity in new directions.

Calling all princess and fairies of the kingdom! By royal decree, you're invited to register for our Annual 4Cats Princess & Fairy Workshops. Create an original princess or fairy sculpture using polymer clay and learn creative sculpting tips and techniques. Workshop includes an awesome mini acrylic display case.
 

At your Princess & Fairy Workshop, you will receive a royal invitation to our magical Princess & Fairy Gallery Soirée on Sunday, March 22nd. Join us at the studio where all the magical princesses and fairies will be on display for everyone to admire and enjoy. Attend in full princess or fairy costume, create fairytale art masterpieces and enjoy fun activities. You'll have a ball!

Why Art is Good… Art awakens the imagination and allows the magic in! Art is very important for young children as it develops focus and attention, good hand-eye coordination, and builds self-esteem. More than 33% of children are visual learners and it has been shown that when art is integrated with other curriculum areas, children actually become more engaged in the process. Art, not only teaches children to take risks and to learn from one’s mistakes, but to see that there can be more than one solution to the same problem. It fosters open-ended thinking and creates an environment of questions rather than answers. Art teaches children to learn to explore playfully, without a preconceived plan, learning from accidents and being surprised by the outcome.

At 4Cats Arts Studios, kids get to work in a variety of mediums, taking inspiration from the works of famous artists. If we are studying Picasso, we create acrylic on canvas cubist paintings and ceramics. If we are studying Vincent Van Gogh, we create acrylic on canvas paintings using modeling paste and quick brush strokes, just like Van Gogh did, himself. We also throw in a lot of age-appropriate art history! Trained in Fine Arts, our professional curators are able to tell captivating and inspiring stories in a fun and humorous manner about the life and work of the artist being introduced, creating an environment that encourages the love of learning, creativity, and fun! The name, 4Cats, is inspired by the 4Cats Cafe in Barcelona, Spain. The 4Cats Cafe (Els Quatre Gats) is the place where Picasso went with artist, poet and philosopher friends to discuss art and life and make, and show, great art! This is what we do, create masterpieces and talk about art!
