Our program for our youngest dancers is organized in this evolving form allowing for children to actively build new learning and understanding. We work at keeping class interesting by utilizing music, props and storytelling. We sing and dance songs that children already know and love while learning new songs to perform for one another. In addition to Dance technique, we work on social and emotional goals, such as the feeling of accomplishment and pride a young dancer gets when mastering new or challenging technique. We guide our young dancers with life skills such as waiting a turn in class or partnering in song and dance. The inclusion of these fundamental skills has a beneficial impact on the experience of our students both in the Dance studio and outside in everyday life. At the Annex Dance Academy, we have gone to great lengths to create a totally unique space for our clientele, with five studios, which together measure 6,000 square feet, a comfortable reception area and a private change room. The Dance Exchange featured on Oakville Moms

The Dance Exchange offers a wide variety of classes for students ages 3 years to adult. Our focus is to give your child a safe, fun introduction and advancement into the world of dance. Our staff is compassionate, creative and always courteous to both you and your child. We offer two large lobby viewing windows and encourage our parents to stay and watch their child's development.
We watch our dancers bloom from rambunctious children to confident teens, engaged in life. Through dance, they learn time management, balance and focus; skills which trickle into every area of their life and development. In fact, most of our dancers are on the honour roll.

Our greatest achievement doesn’t lie in the trophies awarded to our competitive teams (although we are so proud of them), but in the smiles as our dancers arrive to each class. It lies in seeing our past students bringing their own children to class.

Our method works. We create a “home away from home” in our studio; where older children mentor the younger ones, leading by example. The little ones have role models…ideals, heroes to which they can aspire.

We have fostered a safe environment for kids to grow and express themselves. We teach them that participation in the arts is different from organized sport. While the development of team skills is hugely valuable, performance art has its own set of skills and personal values that cannot be learned anywhere else.

It is a pure expression of joy!

Canadian Dance Company Business Feature on Oakville Moms

Canadian Dance Company is a creative school located in Oakville, which has been in operation for over 27 years. Run by the Lupien Family, they have an ideal facility and faculty for children ages 2 and up including adults. They teach classes in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tap, Acro and Tumbling. The classes are fun; the environment is friendly and perfect for any family!

New this year we have expanded our program to include daytime classes for our Tots Dance Too (Age 2 & Parent), Dancing Machines (Age 3) and Beginner (Ages 4 & 5) programs.

September Business Feature StageCoach Theatre Arts

StageCoach Theatre Arts, one of the world's longest running and most successful children's theatre schools - is now in Oakville!


At StageCoach Theatre Arts our aim is to provide your child with the highest quality part-time training in the performing arts. We hope to nurture and develop each child's unique potential through singing, acting and dance classes, allowing imaginations to bloom and confidence to soar!

All of our programs include Acting, Singing and Dancing- all under one roof!

We are currently offering two Saturday programs:

Main Stage - ages 6-16. A three hour program, where students are split into appropriate age groups and rotate between an hour of acting, an hour of singing and an hour of dancing.

Saturdays, 10am -1pm, starting September 22nd, 2012.

Early Stages - ages 4-6. Is 90-minute fun-filled class with roughly 30 minutes given to acting, singing and dancing, along with lots of games to get those little imaginations buzzing.

Saturdays, 9:30-11am OR 11:15-12:45pm, starting September 22nd, 2012

Class sizes are kept small, and each class is taught by a highly trained and experienced teacher who will cater to each child’s unique needs and potential.

Our Fall term culminates with an Open Class and our Spring Term leads up to a wonderful theatrical production for your friends and family to come see all of your hard work.

No experience or audition required, just a desire to play!
