Centreville, located on the Toronto Islands, is a natural destination for a day trip, especially with younger children. With over 30 rides and attractions this theme park is a feast of rides for the whole family. And getting to this amusement park is almost as exciting as the park itself. The only way to get there is by the Centre Island Ferry.
The 14-acre theme park is designed to look like a turn-of-the-century Ontario village. You'll love the antique carrousel with its fanciful animals. Kids can get plenty of driving experience zooming around in the antique cars, touring cars or fire engines. Spin yourself silly in the self-propelled Barrels Of Fun; or enjoy picturesque views from the top of the windmill-style Ferris Wheel or the Sky Ride – a gondola that soars over the entire park.
For those who can handle a few more thrills… tackle the rough seas aboard the Rockin’ Ferry Ride, twirl in the new Tea Cups, spin around in the dark in the Scrambler, ride on the Monster Coaster, take a plunge in the Log Flume Ride or bounce around in Bumper Boats and Bumper Cars.

It's been a while since I've been to Centreville (located on the Toronto Islands). Now going with my children I see the world through their eyes. We had so much fun and the day couldn't have been more perfect. Starting off with the ferry ride my boys had a blast. Then as soon as we arrived to the island, we had a picnic. Wherever we looked there was stretches of green grass, trees and trails, it is very picturesque; we felt as though we were so far away from the city. One of the many nice things about Centreville Amusement Park is that a lot of the rides parents can accompany their children. For example we went on the Centreville Train, Antique Cars, Swan Ride just to name a few. They also have a Wading Pool (like a Splash Pad), Pony Express, Log Flume Ride, Ferris Wheel Ride, and so much more.
Centreville Amusement Park prices are reasonable for tickets and food. You can also bring in your own food with no hassle. There is something there for everyone: children and adults. You will have fun no matter what you do there. Don't forget to get a Funnel Cake before you leave Centreville Amusement Park, it was certainly delicious! The park is open daily. I couldn't have tried out Today I Ate A Rainbow at a better time. It was exactly what I was looking for. My 3 year old is somewhat of a picky eater. We all know what that means, certain foods he likes and other foods he just won't give it a chance. When I received the package I made a point in letting my youngest know that this was something especially for him. He was so excited to check it out. Today I Ate A Rainbow package includes: 1 chart, 2 sets of square and round magnets, 4 achievement magnets, 4 fridge magnets, 1 shopping list and Rainbow Bunch book.
It's truly a great interactive tool for both parents and kids to set healthy eating habits. The goal is to have your child eat five fruits and vegetables a day. The chart has 5 colours of the rainbow. Each colour gives you a list of fruits and vegetables that you should eat in a day. Even for myself when I go shopping I make a point in getting fruits and vegetables from each colour category. So when your child eats a fruit or vegetable of that colour, you place the colour magnet, once they have covered all 5 colours in the chart you place the Today I Ate A Rainbow achievement magnet. We have been using the Today I Ate A Rainbow for a couple of weeks now and even from the first day it worked! My son was moved by the story in the Rainbow Bunch book. Some of the children were either sick or not growing as fast because they were not eating their fruits and vegetables. But in the end when all the children were eating their fruits and vegetables they were healthy and happy and that put a smile on my son's face. So far my son has tried 3 new fruits and 2 vegetables and I couldn't have done it without Today I Ate A Rainbow. It's a great start and I couldn't be happier. My son is having fun putting the colourful magnets up once he eats something. That is the whole point of Today I Ate A Rainbow, we have to make our children understand that eating fruits and vegetable are good for us. That eating a rainbow of fruits and vegetables will make us healthy and happy. Today I Ate A Rainbow is well designed, colourful, easy to use and your children will be excited to show off their achievements. It certainly has helped us and I know it will help you too. The decision to breastfed your baby is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a new parent. Babies were born to breastfed and breastfeeding is the natural way to feed a baby.
Occasionally pre-existing medical conditions/surgeries and situations MAY have an impact on your breastfeeding experience with your baby.
With good prenatal care, and a prenatal breastfeeding consultation you’ll be prepared to know when to contact a lactation consultant for further help and advice in reaching YOUR breastfeeding goals after delivery. Many times when you have a plan in place you’ll feel more confident in knowing what to do if any breastfeeding difficulties arise.
Here are SOME of the reasons when a prenatal breastfeeding assessment may be beneficial:

Offered in your home, Camilla will help and support you in meeting your breastfeeding goals and overcoming any problems you may be experiencing. This service is available any time during your breastfeeding experience (following delivery until weaning) Telephone & Email support are included after your consultation.
PRENATAL GROUP CHILDBIRTH CLASSES FOR MULTIPLES
(Twins, Triplets, or More!)
Classes take place in Oakville and are taught either in a series over 4 evenings during the week or in a weekend session. Some of the content in her series involves:
Prenatal nutrition and activity
What to do if put on bed rest
Common worries and concerns that parents have when expecting multiples and how to cope
Being classified as "high risk pregnancy" ... what does this mean for mom and babies?
Pre-term labour - how to know what it is and what to do if it happens
Other complications that can arise with multiple pregnancies
If you have premature babies, what to expect and how to cope
Labour and delivery of multiples, the variations that can occur
Information on what to expect if you have to have a cesarean section
Post-partum recovery for mom and babies
Surviving at home with multiples
Feeding your babies (schedule vs. on-demand, bottle, breast, pumping breast milk, etc.)
Caring for your babies

PRENATAL BREASTFEEDING INFORMATION
The decision to breastfed your baby is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a new parent. Babies were born to breastfed and breastfeeding is the natural way to feed a baby.
Occasionally pre-existing medical conditions/surgeries and situations MAY have an impact on your breastfeeding experience with your baby.
With good prenatal care, and a prenatal breastfeeding consultation you’ll be prepared to know when to contact a lactation consultant for further help and advice in reaching YOUR breastfeeding goals after delivery. Many times when you have a plan in place you’ll feel more confident in knowing what to do if any breastfeeding difficulties arise.
Here are SOME of the reasons when a prenatal breastfeeding assessment may be beneficial:
Previous breast or chest surgeries of any kind (even as a child)
Previous breast augmentation surgery
Have undergone gastric bypass surgery
Previous breast infections
Difficulty conceiving or infertility treatments
You are a diabetic
You or your spouse have food sensitivities/allergies
History of thyroid dysfunction (hyper or hypothyroidism)
Been diagnosed as having polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
History of high blood pressure
Been told you are obese by your medical provider
Prior breastfeeding difficulties with other children
Multiple pregnancy (twins, triplets)
Know you are expecting a baby with cleft lip/palate or any other medical condition (cardiac, neurological, etc.)
Want to know how to prenatally express colostrum. In the circumstance your baby requires supplementation for medical reasons this avoids the introduction of artificial baby milk (formula) when unnecessary

There are over 75 great recipes for your child, starting off with babies first foods to toddler meals. My first impression of the book was that it is really well organized and easy to understand. I've read a lot books in the past while I was pregnant but none of them were as informative as Sprout Right. I can honestly say she covers every topic imaginable. I love all the side notes and comparison charts that Lianne highlights. Some other topics include: tips for new mom meals, breastfeeding, formula feeding, first foods checklist, baby feeding calendar, helpful tips for teething, eczema and constipation; food allergies, list of resources, food sources of vitamins and minerals, and so much more. Lianne includes her own experiences as a mom as well as other moms. This gives you confidence that you are not alone, we all go through the same problems and concerns. I've tried a handful of the recipes and I love that I can hide some vegetables in my children's meals without them really knowing it. After losing weight and getting strong, I became an instructor and made the decision to bring this alternative form of fitness to my hometown. We have been well received in Kerr Village and a sisterhood has been created.
At Aradia Fitness Oakville, you will come in contact with a community of women, from different walks and stages of life, who want to focus on self esteem, get fit and have fun with life. Our trained instructors are encouraging, non-judgmental and fun. We offer classes, workshops and specialize in ladies night out parties.

Step2® Recalls to Repair Riding Toys Due to Risk of Injury
Hazard: A pin attaching to the yellow knob on the handle of the buggy can loosen, causing the handle to detach from the buggy. This poses a serious risk of injury to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 28 reports of the handle detaching; two incidents required professional medical treatment and 26 resulted in minor scrapes and scratches.
Description: The Step2® Push Around Buggy™ and Whisper Ride Buggy™ are ride-on toys. The buggy comes in various colors; such as, orange, red, blue, pink and green. The buggies have a red “Step2” logo on the handle of the buggy.
Buggies that have a handle attached by a bolt with a plastic white or black head and nut are not included in this recall.
Sold at: Major retailers and specialty stores from August 1999 through March 2010 for between $29 and $59.

Halton's Health Department first in the region to be Baby Friendly
On Tuesday, May 4, 2010, Halton Regional Chair, Gary Carr accepted an official plaque from the Breastfeeding Committee of Canada (BCC), designating the Halton Region Health Department (HRHD) as Baby Friendly—the first health organization in the region and the fourth health unit in Ontario to receive this status.
“As Chair of the Board of Health, I’m proud that the Health Department continues to be leaders in the community promoting better health for all of our residents, including the very youngest,” said Chair Carr. “The Baby Friendly Initiative puts the health of new mothers and babies first by ensuring the education and support they need are in place. We can now help other health organizations in Halton do the same.”
Laura Prodanyk, past chair of the Ontario Breastfeeding Committee (OBC) and representative of the BCC, formally recognized the efforts of the department, “Receiving Baby Friendly status is a significant achievement for any health organization,” she said. “We have been impressed by the Region’s supportive environment and their relationship with other community organizations. Staff knowledge is also excellent, and we saw firsthand how parents in the community actually incorporated what the staff taught them. It’s a great step forward in the protection and promotion of breastfeeding as the norm in Halton.”
The three-day intensive assessment of the department included interviews with 14 staff and 21 moms. The two assessors also attended two prenatal classes and two Halton Prenatal Nutrition Program sessions to assess how well the department is putting their breastfeeding policies and practices into place. They also reviewed websites and curriculum, and as a final step, confirmed their findings with the five other lead assessors for Canada before presenting their report. The HRHD successfully completed the accreditation process on December 17, 2009, meeting a key priority identified by Council for last year.

Why Choose THIS Bootcamp over all the others?If you are looking to tone up and lose weight, you have sooo many options available to you. The idea of a ”bootcamp” is to work with a Personal Trainer at a fraction of the cost, and to have someone to motivate you to meet your goals!I have instructed for a couple of the high profile Bootcamp companies. I found many of them put too many into a class.I am a Personal Trainer. My passion is to get to know my clients strengths and weaknesses and help them achieve their goals. When I was handed a class of 25 I rarely had the opportunity to get to know the names of my participants let alone get to know their individual goals.That was when I decided to start my own Bootcamp. A bootcamp that could deliver tougher and more advanced drills because the Trainer has 12 or less in a class.

What Programs are offered?
Bootcamp
The class is one hour long and you attend twice per week. The structure incorporates dynamic conditioning (plyometrics, cardio, agility drills etc) and resistance in the form of squats, lunges, pushups. We try to make it as fun as possible using drills and obstacle courses. Part of the motivation is from your Trainer and the other part is from your peers.
Stroller Fit
This program is structured to give parents a good workout with a baby and stroller in tow! We take the bootcamp elements and format them into a stroller friendly program. So instead of drills we use the paths and sidewalks to get our workout. We keep the class moving as much as possible so that by the end of the hour the baby thinks he or she just enjoyed an hour long walk in the fresh air. Of course we recite some nursery rhymes and children’s songs during the workout too to help keep the little ones enjoying every minute.
Bridal Bootcamp/Private Bootcamp
We also offer private programs for those with upcoming events such as weddings, proms, reunions or just for groups of friends that want to get in shape together. There is nothing better than having the support of family and friends while getting healthy and fit side by side!
