Celebrating its 6th anniversary, the Seasons Christmas Show returns November 19-21, 2010 at the International Centre in Mississauga as the destination for everything Christmas!
Show visitors will be treated to a fun filled day of shopping as they tour the festive marketplace overflowing with Christmas décor, one-of-a-kind gifts and gourmet treats. Designed to showcase the latest trends in seasonal décor, florals and greens, entertaining products and services, culinary products and unique gifts, the Seasons Christmas Show has something for everyone. A host of celebrities will educate and entertain show attendees including: CityLine Expert Lynn Spence, Frank Ferragine aka “Frankie Flowers”, Jane Lockhart, Host of Colour Confidential, Style at Home’s Erin McLaughlin and many more. Also, Canadian Living magazine editors, including Karen Kirk, will take the stage to create the season’s finest dishes, holiday projects and décor ideas to top your tables and deck your halls.
New this year to Seasons Christmas Show is “Deck the Halls, Inside and Out” a feature focused on breathtaking holiday mantels & doors created by Style at Home, Canadian Living and Canadian Gardening editors and Seasonal Workshops led by Frank Ferragine, Sue Warden and Executive Chef Joe Levesque.
On Friday November 19, 2010 the Seasons Christmas Show will be hosting its first Christmas Party and you’re invited! Owners, Laura and John Hughes have been busy preparing for Springridge Farm’s most vibrant and popular event. Explore our “Boo Barn”, navigate the straw barn bales and new this year our Spiderweb Climber and Farm Yard Pipe Slide.
Our popular “The Runaway Pumpkin” puppet show runs at 11 a.m., 12, 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. and is guaranteed to delight the little ones. Face painting and pony rides are also available.
And what would a harvest festival be without pie? Springridge has been busy preparing 8,000 apple pies, as well as 10,000 iced pumpkin cookies for everyone to enjoy. Springridge Farm’s popular baked goods are made from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients and derived from recipes handed down in the Hughes family.
Springridge Farm’s 19th century barn gift shop has everything to meet your Thanksgiving decor needs. From individual gourds and straw bales to decorate your home, to sophisticated autumn wreaths, hardy mums and thoughtful hostess gifts.
Before leaving, patrons can purchase their own pumpkins and gourds. Springridge Farm grows over 10 acres of pumpkins each year, ranging in size from tennis balls to 300 pounds! The farm also offers a wide variety in their Farm Market. Choose from Cinderella, Ghost, Tomato Speckle Swan, Knucklehead and Goose Neck pumpkins.

When was the last time you viewed yourself as a sensual, beautiful person? I don't know about you, but I have noticed that as we age-have our babies, take care of our careers/families/homes- life'sresponsibilities tends to place our sensuality down the priority list,right next "take the dog to the vet" and "pay the hydro bill".I remember a time- a special time that I like to refer to as "B.C.(Before Children)"- where I had hours to make myself up, eat right,work out, find sexy clothes.. oh heavens, going through the shoppingmall by myself! If I had known then, I would have slowed down andsucked in every moment of it.Don't get me wrong, I love my children and my husband with everybreath of my body. I do not regret this path for a second. Wait aminute..okay..yes I do wish I had a time machine and went back towhisper in my ear "Save your money instead of buying those shoes,because honey, you will need those dollars!" But really? Who has timeor the money to build a time machine?Here's what I believe. There are ways to be a great mother, wonderfulwife, contributing member of society.. and at the same time feelingsexy, beautiful and confident. It all comes down to attitude-- not howyou look, (trust me being a size 2 doesn't make life any better!) Ourinner self shining through our outer exterior.To all the women everywhere, let's start a revolution! A revolution ofreclaiming our sensuality and feeling beautiful. This doesn't mean"looking beautiful"-- it's about HOW we feel about ourselves. Justbecause we are aging and/or have given birth, that how we feel aboutourselves needs to slide down our priority list.So, let's begin by putting ourselves up the list, right next tobreathing, eating and sleeping. (Oh! Yes! Let's add Sex to the list,but.. that's a whole other rant in itself!) This may seem like aselfish step or even a big task, but truly is not. Remember, when aplane is going to crash, we are instructed to put the breathing deviceon ourselves first and then transfer to our little ones.

Centreville, located on the Toronto Islands, is a natural destination for a day trip, especially with younger children. With over 30 rides and attractions this theme park is a feast of rides for the whole family. And getting to this amusement park is almost as exciting as the park itself. The only way to get there is by the Centre Island Ferry.
The 14-acre theme park is designed to look like a turn-of-the-century Ontario village. You'll love the antique carrousel with its fanciful animals. Kids can get plenty of driving experience zooming around in the antique cars, touring cars or fire engines. Spin yourself silly in the self-propelled Barrels Of Fun; or enjoy picturesque views from the top of the windmill-style Ferris Wheel or the Sky Ride – a gondola that soars over the entire park.
For those who can handle a few more thrills… tackle the rough seas aboard the Rockin’ Ferry Ride, twirl in the new Tea Cups, spin around in the dark in the Scrambler, ride on the Monster Coaster, take a plunge in the Log Flume Ride or bounce around in Bumper Boats and Bumper Cars.
Centreville offers kid-sized thrills, laughter, great food, fun, and relief from the city's heat. The park-like setting makes it ideal for a family outing!
Toronto Island also has a large number of picnic sites, restaurants and event venues available in the summer months for birthday and staff parties, product launches, weddings, conferences, concerts and events of any kind. Oakville Moms Review:
It's been a while since I've been to Centreville (located on the Toronto Islands). Now going with my children I see the world through their eyes. We had so much fun and the day couldn't have been more perfect. Starting off with the ferry ride my boys had a blast. Then as soon as we arrived to the island, we had a picnic. Wherever we looked there was stretches of green grass, trees and trails, it is very picturesque; we felt as though we were so far away from the city. One of the many nice things about Centreville Amusement Park is that a lot of the rides parents can accompany their children. For example we went on the Centreville Train, Antique Cars, Swan Ride just to name a few. They also have a Wading Pool (like a Splash Pad), Pony Express, Log Flume Ride, Ferris Wheel Ride, and so much more.
Centreville Amusement Park prices are reasonable for tickets and food. You can also bring in your own food with no hassle. There is something there for everyone: children and adults. You will have fun no matter what you do there. Don't forget to get a Funnel Cake before you leave Centreville Amusement Park, it was certainly delicious! The park is open daily. It's been a while since I've been to Centreville (located on the Toronto Islands). Now going with my children I see the world through their eyes. We had so much fun and the day couldn't have been more perfect. Starting off with the ferry ride my boys had a blast. Then as soon as we arrived to the island, we had a picnic. Wherever we looked there was stretches of green grass, trees and trails, it is very picturesque; we felt as though we were so far away from the city. One of the many nice things about Centreville Amusement Park is that a lot of the rides parents can accompany their children. For example we went on the Centreville Train, Antique Cars, Swan Ride just to name a few. They also have a Wading Pool (like a Splash Pad), Pony Express, Log Flume Ride, Ferris Wheel Ride, and so much more.
Centreville Amusement Park prices are reasonable for tickets and food. You can also bring in your own food with no hassle. There is something there for everyone: children and adults. You will have fun no matter what you do there. Don't forget to get a Funnel Cake before you leave Centreville Amusement Park, it was certainly delicious! The park is open daily. The decision to breastfed your baby is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a new parent. Babies were born to breastfed and breastfeeding is the natural way to feed a baby.
Occasionally pre-existing medical conditions/surgeries and situations MAY have an impact on your breastfeeding experience with your baby.
With good prenatal care, and a prenatal breastfeeding consultation you’ll be prepared to know when to contact a lactation consultant for further help and advice in reaching YOUR breastfeeding goals after delivery. Many times when you have a plan in place you’ll feel more confident in knowing what to do if any breastfeeding difficulties arise.
Here are SOME of the reasons when a prenatal breastfeeding assessment may be beneficial:
Previous breast or chest surgeries of any kind (even as a child)
Previous breast augmentation surgery
Have undergone gastric bypass surgery
Previous breast infections
Difficulty conceiving or infertility treatments
You are a diabetic
You or your spouse have food sensitivities/allergies
History of thyroid dysfunction (hyper or hypothyroidism)
Been diagnosed as having polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
History of high blood pressure
Been told you are obese by your medical provider
Prior breastfeeding difficulties with other children
Multiple pregnancy (twins, triplets)
Know you are expecting a baby with cleft lip/palate or any other medical condition (cardiac, neurological, etc.)
Want to know how to prenatally express colostrum. In the circumstance your baby requires supplementation for medical reasons this avoids the introduction of artificial baby milk (formula) when unnecessary
