The Dance Exchange featured on Oakville Moms

The Dance Exchange offers a wide variety of classes for students ages 3 years to adult. Our focus is to give your child a safe, fun introduction and advancement into the world of dance. Our staff is compassionate, creative and always courteous to both you and your child. We offer two large lobby viewing windows and encourage our parents to stay and watch their child's development.
We watch our dancers bloom from rambunctious children to confident teens, engaged in life. Through dance, they learn time management, balance and focus; skills which trickle into every area of their life and development. In fact, most of our dancers are on the honour roll.

Our greatest achievement doesn’t lie in the trophies awarded to our competitive teams (although we are so proud of them), but in the smiles as our dancers arrive to each class. It lies in seeing our past students bringing their own children to class.

Our method works. We create a “home away from home” in our studio; where older children mentor the younger ones, leading by example. The little ones have role models…ideals, heroes to which they can aspire.

We have fostered a safe environment for kids to grow and express themselves. We teach them that participation in the arts is different from organized sport. While the development of team skills is hugely valuable, performance art has its own set of skills and personal values that cannot be learned anywhere else.

It is a pure expression of joy!

This beautiful centre provides children with an incredible opportunity to learn, grow and develop in a nurturing environment. Recently purchased by Edleun (Education Learning Universe), this centre has witnessed visible improvements to the facility, menu and curriculum in the past 12 months. Still serving children as young as 6 weeks in a full day setting to children as old as 12 years in a before and after school program, the Oakville Learning & Childcare Centre strives to set itself apart from anything considered ordinary.

Known for their fully bi-lingual programming, the Oakville Learning & Childcare Centre offers French in every classroom with a fully fluent French speaking teacher. This program is perfect for children planning on attending a French Immersion elementary school. Along with the French speaking instructor, you'll find a fully trained, experienced and nurturing E.C.E. (Early Childhood Educator). For children not planning to attend French Immersion, the benefits of exposure to another language are plentiful and long lasting. In the pre-school and kindergarten rooms, you'll find the Frog Street Curriculum educating their children on the values of respect, community and friendship - all while learning mathematics, language and socialization skills. Knowing how extremely important proper nutrition is to both the physical and mental well-being of growing children, Edleun has partnered with a Registered Dietician and Nutritionist. Andrea Holwegner of Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. certifies their menu, ingredients in their menu and provides proper substitutions in case of personal beliefs or allergies. Their meals are made in-house, fresh daily and from scratch. Their full meal program is included at every age group (an example of a meal plan would be their Fish Sticks. Whole fish are cut into fillets, breaded using eggs, milk and bread crumbs, and then baked in the oven until done. This is served alongside rice, steamed broccoli, cauliflower, fresh fruit and a glass of milk).

This Centre is located at 20 Shepherd Road (just off of Speers Rd and Kerr St), a quick 3 minute drive to the Oakville Go-Train Station. They offer convenient operating hours for commuting parents and are open from 6:45am to 6:00pm. Knowing how important fun and safe before and out of school care is, they also offer care to children enrolled at Patricia Picknell, Pinegrove, Oakwood and St.Marie.

ItsyBitsy Yoga in Oakville - Oakville Moms feature

Since 2006, I’ve enjoyed sharing the fun and happy energy of Itsy Bitsy Yoga with hundreds of Babies, Tots, Tykes and their moms! When you attend an Itsy Bitsy Yoga class you are actively nurturing the physical, emotional and intellectual development of your little one. Poses are designed specifically for your little yogi’s benefit. You are inviting them to appreciate a healthy, fit lifestyle while having fun.

We touch on all of the traditional aspects of yoga that make it so appealing to parents: rest, relaxation, and nourishing the body with poses that bring flexibility, stability and strength. For the kids, we find ways to focus attention, calm minds, and explore poses that complement other physical activities, whether sports, martial arts or dance. Together, we'll try fun and hilarious partner poses and activities.
