The Oakville Learning & Childcare Centre
Knowing how extremely important
proper nutrition is to both the physical and mental well-being of growing
children, Edleun has partnered with a Registered Dietician and
Nutritionist. Andrea Holwegner of Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc.
certifies their menu, ingredients in their menu and provides proper
substitutions in case of personal beliefs or allergies. Their meals are made
in-house, fresh daily and from scratch. Their full meal program is included at
every age group (an example of a meal plan would be their Fish Sticks. Whole
fish are cut into fillets, breaded using eggs, milk and bread crumbs, and then
baked in the oven until done. This is served alongside rice, steamed broccoli,
cauliflower, fresh fruit and a glass of milk).
This Centre is located at
20 Shepherd Road (just off of Speers Rd and Kerr St), a quick 3
minute drive to the Oakville Go-Train Station. They offer convenient operating
hours for commuting parents and are open from 6:45am to 6:00pm. Knowing how

Oakville School of Music is an independent music
school that provides students with the opportunity to excel in music education.
Our school offers private and group instruction at all levels to students
wishing to begin, develop, and further progress in music education. Classes
begin for students ages 4 and up on the following instruments: piano, voice,

Camps 2013
The
OSMPA is excited to offer a wide range of summer camps that foster musical
develop in a fun group environment.
OSMPA’s
piano camps are designed to foster growth in individual musicians, including
skills in rhythm and ear training, while mastering pieces in a group
environment. The OSMPA’s unique Piano
Fingers Mini Camp will
continue to be offered this year for students ages 4 to 6, and new this year is
the Intermediate
Piano Camp
for students ages 7 to 11. Both camps are ideal for students completely new to
the piano or are within their first year of playing.
Each
camper will have his/her own keyboard to practice on throughout the week and in
addition you can expect the following group activities: group piano classes,
rhythm and movement games, singing, music listening, introduction to composers,
crafts, and music theory games.
There
are a limited number of spots, due to the nature of the programming. Please book

The Dance Exchange featured on Oakville Moms
The Dance Exchange offers a wide variety of classes for students ages 3 years to adult. Our focus is to give your child a safe, fun introduction and advancement into the world of dance. Our staff is compassionate, creative and always courteous to both you and your child. We offer two large lobby viewing windows and encourage our parents to stay and watch their child's development.
We watch our dancers bloom from rambunctious children to confident teens, engaged in life. Through dance, they learn time management, balance and focus; skills which trickle into every area of their life and development. In fact, most of our dancers are on the honour roll.
Our greatest achievement doesn’t lie in the trophies awarded to our competitive teams (although we are so proud of them), but in the smiles as our dancers arrive to each class. It lies in seeing our past students bringing their own children to class.
Our method works. We create a “home away from home” in our studio; where older children mentor the younger ones, leading by example. The little ones have role models…ideals, heroes to which they can aspire.
We have fostered a safe environment for kids to grow and express themselves. We teach them that participation in the arts is different from organized sport. While the development of team skills is hugely valuable, performance art has its own set of skills and personal values that cannot be learned anywhere else.
It is a pure expression of joy!

Canadian Dance Company Business Feature on Oakville Moms
Canadian Dance Company is a creative school located in Oakville, which has been in operation for over 27 years. Run by the Lupien Family, they have an ideal facility and faculty for children ages 2 and up including adults. They teach classes in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tap, Acro and Tumbling. The café is designed by Mason Studio to be a place Marilyn would be comfortable in, not a shrine, featuring a relaxed but elevated design experience with lush menu options.
The Marilyn Monroe Café drink menu features smoothies ranging from flavours like Mango Tango to Mint Chocolate Chip and luscious hot drinks like Red Velvet and Crème Brule Lattes made with the Ferrari of modern espresso machines, the Adonis T3; custom designed in Italy providing the perfect cup of coffee.
Breakfast goers can pair lattes with hearty organic wholesome oatmeal, New York style bagels and French Flaked Croissants. Those with something sweeter in mind have a wide number of selections from the dessert menu like Gourmet Cupcakes and Artisan Cheesecakes.
Marilyn Monroe Café guests can use a sleek new Mobile App called “MM Café” to order ahead of time and skip the line. The app is available on Apple iTunes, where it can be downloaded for free.
In addition, café guests’ experiences will be further enhanced by stunning JBL Audio, featuring 22 speakers of complete clarity. Music programming is selected digitally by the vibe of the songs’ algorithms. The sound system automatically sets the volume level, based upon activity in the café, a very state of the art feature.
