It's the New Year! This means it's time to get our  BUTTS INTO GEAR!! In this newsletter, you will find: FREE -  2018 Inspiration Guide READ - 3 SUREFIRE Ways to INSPIRE Your Children in 2018 FREE Exercise Planning Workshops FREE Yoga Pose Checks by Expert Physiotherapist & Yoga Coach Will 2018 be a year of INSPIRATION for you? Why should 2018 be the best year of your life? Because it's right now...

"Happiness is not something you postpone for the future. It's something you design for the present." - Jim Rohn We often wait until 'later' to chase our dreams, go on that vacation, spend time with those we love, focus on health...until unfortunately, later turns into now, and nothing changes.. . Sound familiar to you? You are waiting 'til your kids get older before you do the things you want to do... You are waiting until you get that promotion until you go on that vacation... You are waiting until you pay off your mortgage before you can relax... Always waiting....for later... But guess what? Later may never come.....All you have is right now... Make 2018 a year of inspiration. I'm on a mission to do the same. Find out how this city girl moved to the country, helped start a nature school (outdoor forest school) for the local community, raise two young children, and  quit a 6-figure full-time job as a physiotherapist to become a yoga coach where I run health and lifestyle retreats on the Niagara Escarpment... Follow the Inspiration Guide I used to lead me to a life of inspiration. Download 2018 Inspiration Mini-Guide. Are you doing these 3 SUREFIRE things to INSPIRE your children?? Discover how you can be the BEST role model for your kids in 2018.

Whatever it is that you do, whether you're a homemaker or career woman, artist or scientist,  new mom or veteran, you need to ask yourself: Are You INSPIRING Your Children?? Take a breath  and think about it for a few seconds. Inspiration comes when we are stimulated to do something creative, something magical, something that we HOPE we could do one day. How do we stimulate our kids to be creative, dream big, and believe that they can do anything they put their hearts and minds to? Do we make sure they do all their homework and become good students so that they grow up to have any career they want? Do we put them into every music, art, and sport activity after school? Do we let other teachers, celebrities and artists influence our kids more than we do? A RESOUNDING NO, NO and NO. The best way to inspire your children is for YOU TO BECOME INSPIRATIONAL. You need to lead the way by being their best role model. Discover the 3 Surefire Ways to Inspire Your Children... How to Set, Implement and Achieve All Your Exercise Goals without the Gym, Gadgets or Gimmicks Are you tired of wasting money for memberships at gyms or yoga studios because you don't go enough? Wouldn't it be amazing if you could magically create more time in your schedule so you could work out and still be able to do the billion of other things you have to do on your to-do list? What if I told you all this was possible with just a few simple tweaks in your life? Doesn't it sound too good to be true? In this class, I will spill all the secrets on how you can reclaim control of your body and start living the holistic and healthy life you deserve. You will go home with a step-by-step plan on how to set, implement and achieve all your exercise and health goals. Free Classes at Goodness Me https://education.goodnessme.ca/event/3797

Are you doing yoga properly? Yoga gave me the confidence to follow my dreams and awakened me to my purpose in life... Yoga enabled me to help hundreds of patients recover from injury and take their yoga practice to the next level... But I couldn't do it without knowing anatomy and alignment. The biggest problem with most yoga classes is that they focus on either the spirituality of yoga or in more modern classes, the workout burn... But most teachers fail to teach proper alignment... because they don't have the training.. If you don't have proper alignment and muscle recruitment, you are missing out on all the amazing benefits of yoga...and worse, you may be setting yourself up for pain and injury. If you care enough to do yoga properly, go to downdog.posecheck.com to get your down dog alignment checked. I promise that you will learn at least one thing that will help you improve your yoga alignment...so you can reap all the yoga benefits.

This month's Business Feature: KNB Learning

KNB Learning™ makes learning fun and engaging - for ALL types of kids, with ALL types of learning styles, including those with special needs. We serve the families of Oakville, Mississauga, and surrounding areas - parents from Milton to Brampton assure us it is worth the drive for their kids to come to KNB! KNB kids have fun AND learn because our classes allow them to focus on their strengths and interests. When they do that, they engage with their learning! And when their specific learning style - visual, auditory, tactile - is accommodated for, they succeed! That success improves their self-esteem, which carries over into all areas of their life. Kids from the ages of 3 to 18 benefit from our academic programs, and our birthday parties can be enjoyed by kids of all ages - from 0-99! AFTER-SCHOOL & WEEKEND PROGRAMS We offer after-school and weekend classes in LEGO, Robotics, Stop Motion Animation, Minecraft, Coding & Programming, and Media Studies (websites, YouTube, video & photo editing). Kids can register for our Winter, Spring, and Fall Sessions - there is new curriculum each session, so they are always learning new skills. This gives KNB kids a chance to progress in their education, in subjects that they may not have access to in their regular school program. Their progress is individually supported and monitored, with sessional report cards, and ongoing consultation with parents. Our curriculum has been custom-designed by teachers and experts in the tech industry, and is based on the Ontario Curriculum and current technology standards. We are committed to teaching our students cutting-edge, transferable skills that will give them an advantage in school and in life. WHEN SCHOOL IS OUT, CAMP IS IN SESSION! We also offer Winter (January), March Break & Summer Camps - combining learning with fun, traditional camp activities. Our camps offer more than child-care while school is out - they are a unique opportunity for an intensive focus on LEGO, Robotics, and Minecraft! KNB kids’ learning continues over the school break, but they never know it - they are too busy having fun! Half- and full-day camps, with extended care, are available. TUTORING THAT WORKS! Parents and kids speak highly of our Tutoring sessions, citing the success kids experience, their engagement in the learning process, and the effectiveness and experience of our teachers. We focus on remedial tutoring, homework support, and enrichment in reading, writing, and math. Once these foundational skills have been mastered, they can be applied to all school subjects. We also offer a Focus & Attention program for kids with ADHD, and solutions for children with Dyslexia. LEGO BIRTHDAY PARTIES HAVE ARRIVED! NEW for 2018! LEGO Birthday Party bookings are NOW AVAILABLE! We have had so many requests for kids to be able to celebrate their special day with their favourite toy - LEGO! For a unique party experience, look no further than our LEGO Birthday Party options. KNB Learning - What a Welcome to the Neighbourhood!

What a Welcome to the Neighbourhood! Well, it sure has been a whirlwind this past fall season at KNB Learning, and we have this great community to thank for that!  Since our Grand Opening in early September, we have had such a positive response from the families who have come through our doors, looking for fun and educational after-school programs for their children. It is such a pleasure to walk down our hallway and hear the excited voices coming out of the classrooms. Classes are rarely quiet at KNB - and we don't want them to be!  All that energy is positive and creative! Besides, how do you stay quiet and still when you are building LEGO® Robots or creating in the world of Minecraft? How do you NOT get excited when you have just programmed a cool app, or a video game?  And it's hard not to be loudly proud when you have just uploaded a newly edited video onto your YouTube channel! KNB Kids do all this and more in their weekly classes. They are learning with every activity, every challenge, every game they create here. The skills they are learning are giving them a valuable edge in the very competitive academic arena of our education system! And the best part is - they are having SO MUCH FUN while they learn!

That fun is a key to their success - they remain engaged in the lessons and in applying the knowledge and skills they are learning.  In the process, they are developing many valuable, transferable skills for their future! As the end of the fall season approaches, we at KNB Learning would like to thank you, the members of this lovely community, for the interest you have shown in our programs, and your support. Teaching your children is a real pleasure - they are committed, determined, and clever kids!

WINTER REGISTRATION I would just like to leave you with a quick reminder that our Winter Registration for after-school Classes (mid-January to March) and Winter Camp (January 2-5) is now open. Register soon, as space goes quickly. Registration can be done quite easily online, at www.knblearning.com . If you have any questions, you can call Cathy at 647-832-2229 or email her at info@kidsnbricks.com .

LEGO FUN DAY I also want to invite everyone to our LEGO Fun Day Fundraiser for Type 1 Diabetes, on November 12th, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Since November marks Diabetes Awareness month, what better way to celebrate the heroes that fight this disease day in and day out than by playing with LEGO!   There will be a spinning wheel, with a variety of prizes to be won.   Everyone can build, everyone can play, and best of all, all proceeds will support Trillium Health Partners' Paediatric Diabetes Camp Fund.   Trillium Health Partners believes that early investment in children's health can greatly improve long-term health and well-being. Your support of the LEGO Fun Day Fundraiser will help send Type 1 diabetic children in our community to Diabetes Summer Camp. These are kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Summer Camp. Additionally, Diabetes Camps give children and youth the chance to be kids - not identified or burdened by their diagnosis. The campers get a much needed break from the daily tasks of diabetes, particularly in the mental-emotional realm, where they feel like the norm, and not the exception.    So please, give what you can, and come ready to HAVE SOME FUN!!!    Remember that we can only accept CASH donations, and don't forget to bring smaller change for a chance to win prizes on the spinning wheel!   PLEASE NOTE: LEGO® and food do NOT mix well together, and for the safety of many of our students with allergies, we do not allow food and drinks in our Centre. Since the event runs after the lunch hour, please eat before or after your time with us. This will keep the LEGO® safe for children with allergies, and clean for everyone to play with!     Diabetic low treatments are exempted, but must be entirely nut-free.   https://www.facebook.com/events/545827809092384/

SPEAKER SERIES, TOPIC - DYSLEXIA, ADHD, AUTISM Lastly, on Saturday, November 18th, from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m., we are bringing in a wonderful guest speaker for our KNB Learning Speaker Series. Beth Shier, of Dyslexia and ADHD Alternatives of Oakville, and Autism Solutions of Ontario, will share her insights into Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia with parents and family members who have children with these diagnoses, or who watch their child struggle in their day-to-day life and just want some answers as to why. There is no cost for this event - it is our give-back to the community - but we do ask that you RSVP if you would like to attend, by email at info@kidsnbricks.com .  We look forward to seeing you at one or more of these events!  And thank you, once again, for welcoming KNB Learning into the community - we looked long and hard for a place to settle down before choosing our location at Ford and Royal Windsor, and the wait was well worth it!
