Strider bikes

A Strider Bike to get your child bike riding! A Strider PREbike is also known as a balance bike, and they are all the rage. These bikes allow toddlers to ride like a big girl or big boy without the usual bumps and scrapes that come with a traditional bike with training wheels. Tricyles never seem to be the right size, and the pedals are difficult to push.

On a Strider PREbike, the youngest riders (18 months) put their feet on the ground and walk the bike. As they progress, riders learn how to run with the bike, then balance and push with their feet to glide. Strider PREbikes are the fastest, easiest and safest way to learn how to ride a bike!

Oakville Moms are eligible for a $10 discount! Six great colours to choose from. Please e-mail StriderToronto@gmail.com or call
905-271-4544 to get your Strider today! Visit www.striderbike.ca for more details and demonstrations. We're conveniently located in Mississauga for local pick-up.

This month's review: Sprout Right

Sprout Right
We want all the babies and children to grow up in a world with as much health, wealth, and happiness as possible. The way the world is heading at the moment, the experts are saying that our wishes for our children may not be possible. So if you are not already an environmentalist, then jump on the bandwagon and take a ride. It will only benefit every person on the planet! In Sprout Right, registered nutrition consultant Lianne Phillipson-Webb clearly explains simple nutritional steps to influence the health of your baby from conception to birth, what a breastfeeding mom should be eating to fortify nature's perfect food, what to look for in a formula, and everything you need to know about starting your baby on solids with ease and confidence.
Phillipson-Webb also explains how the Sprout Right approach allows baby's digestive system to mature, hopefully lessening the potential for allergies and reactions, and then progress to family food in the toddler years. Packed with essential nutritional information, the book includes over 75 delicious recipes, including a variety of purees, chunky and super-chunky purees, and solids fit for a toddler.

About the AuthorLianne Phillipson-Webb founder of Sprout Right Inc., is a Registered Nutrition Consultant Practitioner (RNCP), an expert in family nutrition, and a contributor to Today's Parent magazine. She and her family live in Toronto.

Oakville Moms Review:
If you are a mom-to-be or a new mom, this is the book to get: Sprout Right: Nutrition from Tummy to Toddler by Lianne Phillipson-Webb (Registered Nutrition Consultant). This book will give you the right guidance for a healthy nutrition diet from the time that you are pregnant until your baby is eating solids. There are over 75 great recipes for your child, starting off with babies first foods to toddler meals. My first impression of the book was that it is really well organized and easy to understand. I've read a lot books in the past while I was pregnant but none of them were as informative as Sprout Right. I can honestly say she covers every topic imaginable. I love all the side notes and comparison charts that Lianne highlights. Some other topics include: tips for new mom meals, breastfeeding, formula feeding, first foods checklist, baby feeding calendar, helpful tips for teething, eczema and constipation; food allergies, list of resources, food sources of vitamins and minerals, and so much more. Lianne includes her own experiences as a mom as well as other moms. This gives you confidence that you are not alone, we all go through the same problems and concerns. I've tried a handful of the recipes and I love that I can hide some vegetables in my children's meals without them really knowing it. The no-mess fruity pops were so easy to do and a success with my children. Sprout Right would be a great gift for mom-to-be or new mom. To learn more about Sprout Right and to order, check out their web site http://www.sproutright.com/.

This month's business feature: Petite Posh

Petiteposh.com was started for everyone - mothers, fathers, extended family and friends looking for unique baby and toddler items and guess who started it all? A mother (who knows her business)

As a working mother with 3 children finding time to shop was always a problem. Mall shopping was boring, every store carrying the same items, nothing different, nothing out of the ordinary. Wanting to spend as much time with my family as possible I discovered online shopping. Not only did this way of shopping give me the time and flexiblity I was looking for, but I found a whole new world of things not necessarily accessible to me.

At petiteposh.com crib bedding and blankets are of such wonderful quality, they can be passed down from baby to baby. Plush animals and toys are sure to delight! We are now working with local artists and are able to offer gorgeous nursery prints and fabulous clothing.

Now, five short years later Petiteposh has become the place to shop for all you baby and toddler essentials. As your babies and toddlers are growing up so are we! Check out our new lines of KidKraft big kid furniture and play kitchens.

Looking for a fabulous gift for any age? Take a peek at Zoobie Pets, a unique plush animal, blanket and pillow all in one!

Planning a birthday party for little fashionistas? How about make your own soap and lip baum kits, while they are waiting for their soap and baum to be ready have fun giving manicures and pedicures with our Piggy Paint, non toxic nail polish, very fashionable! Look around at our new site and let us know what you think.

Pssst, don't forget to use coupon code moms at check out for 15% off (valid until June 15th and while supplies last)web site: www.petiteposh.com
